Frequently asked questions
Where is my workout data stored?
Saved workouts, history, and the active-workout checkpoint are stored in the app’s private storage on your iPhone. Clear Intervals does not send them anywhere. Apple may include app data in device backups you enable.
How do I remove my data?
Delete individual saved workouts and history entries in the app. Deleting Clear Intervals removes all of its local data from the device, subject to backups managed through your Apple account and device settings.
Why did Clear Intervals ask for notification permission?
Notifications are used only for local phase cues during an active workout. If you decline, the timer still works; audio, voice, and haptic cues in the foreground follow your device settings.
Why is the Live Activity missing?
Check that Live Activities are enabled for Clear Intervals in iPhone Settings, then start a workout again.
Why can’t I hear a cue?
Check the Mute control in the running timer, the device volume, the audio route, Focus settings, connected headphones, and whether another app currently owns audio playback. Spoken and tone cues follow iOS audio-session behavior.
Can I recover a workout after relaunching the app?
Clear Intervals saves a checkpoint for the active workout and restores it when the app relaunches. If the checkpoint cannot be read safely, the app discards it instead of blocking launch.
Does the app require an account, subscription, or purchase?
No. Clear Intervals has no account, subscription, advertising, paywall, in-app purchase, or paid feature.
